TTwister v.1.0

I have just released a free, flash-based interactive turntable. It plays, displays info and has optional WIREFRAME OVERLAY! More from the release:

TTwister is a free, flash-based interactive turn-table application. In my line of work, I'm constantly producing turn-tables for clients to show them characters or props for their project. The client hits play and watches the object spin a full 360 degress. But what about a web-based solution that enables the client to scrub and play with a custom skin? Even more, what about a solution where you can slap on a wireframe on top to show the geometric makeup? This is that solution. This was a great experiment for me to learn more about action script. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did creating it!

To download, play with and read more about, please the release here: portfolio. If you use it, please give me some feedback.

New stuff coming soon!

My LEFT 4 DEAD MAP is just about to pop 11,000 downloads! I'm delighted to think that some 11,000 people have played my map and (hopefully) found it fun to fight the good fight on.

I am working on a NEW PORTFOLIO SITE, to accompany this blog. It will house my showcase of stills, websites, flash projects and a demoreel that I am currently producing.

I also have a NEW FLASH APPLICATION to unveil very soon! Without spoiling any details, it will be an application that people in my industry could make use of - and for free. Details coming...

L4D Map – Night Of The Living Dead. FINISHED.

In my free time, I have been developing my first game map - a Left 4 Dead map to be precise. To be even more precise, it is a survival map featuring Uncle Rege's house from Night of The Living Dead (1990). But it isn't an exact carbon copy of the movie. Regardless, it's fun to play and was just as fun to make. If I have the free time in the future, I shall revisit this or make a new map all together.

Sculpey doodle

Last week I found some sculpey and tools in my desk drawer I had stashed away the year before and forgot about. Waiting on renders I doodled a little head as I have done once before and figured it was something to show. I have more sculpey and more tools I have yet to experiment with, so I will certainly be doing this again. Next time a full character!

A new level of nerd-dome.

I play a lot of left 4 dead. I often feel remorse in spending so many hours wasted in a game, so I decided to be productive with a few of them. Develop my skills as an artist? No. Pick up a new hobby to better myself? No. Create a level for left 4 dead? Correct.

So a buddy and I are currently working on a survival map for l4d. Pretty pathetic use of time, but better than playing the game and I'm enjoying the creative process. Valve's Hammer tool is really easy to use by taking out a lot of the technical crap.

The map is based on Uncle Rege's house from Night of the Living Dead (1990). I have taken some creative liberties with the inside, so it isn't piece-by-piece perfect. Who cares? Here are some screen grabs:

L4D2 comes out in a few months, so I'm not even sure if this map will work without modification. After (if?) this map is complete, we'll see if I need another one or if I've sufficiently worked this out of my system.
